The Hon Julie Collins MP
Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry

The Albanese Labor Government is continuing to support Australia's thriving horticulture sector with a $1.5 million investment in the nation's premier horticulture conference and trade show.

Hort Connections, which is currently underway in Brisbane, is a key networking event with more than 4000 delegates coming together to share research and innovations in the sector.

The Government will invest $1.5 million over three years to help fund the staging of Hort Connections, ensuring this vital trade show can continue to grow and foster connections between growers.

This funding underlines the importance of this growing sector to the Australian economy, with the value of horticulture production forecast to rise by 4 per cent to $190 billion in 2025-26, while horticultural exports is expected to rise by 8 per cent to $4.4 billion.

These investments were fully funded in the 2025-26 Budget, with the Albanese Labor Government increasing investment in regional trade events by committing $23.8 million over 3 years.

The funding will go towards sponsoring regional trade events and forums that promote innovation and investment in our broader industry.
