Seven weeks after the winning numbers were drawn, an Albion Park couple have finally checked the ticket left languishing on a desk at home and discovered they scored a $4.8 million Set for Life prize.
The Illawarra duo held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life draw 3982, drawn Wednesday 1 July 2026. They can look forward to a total division one prize of $4.8 million, paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 for the next 20 years.
"I'm all shaken up at the moment!" the winning woman exclaimed when speaking to us.
"I can't believe it! I had no idea!
"This ticket has just been sitting on my desk at home the whole time. I kept saying I've got to go check this ticket… and today we did!
"I only started playing Set for Life for the past six months. I've always had a feeling I was going to win the big one.
"It is literally a dream come true! We've been looking at retiring - we've worked hard all our lives but just didn't see that it was going to happen any time soon.
"This has changed our lives. You've no idea what this means to us.
"Things like this just don't happen to people like us.
"This is seriously the best call I've ever had!"
The winning entry was purchased at Nextra Kiama, Shop T3, Kiama Village, 143 Terralong Street, Kiama.
