A driver has astonishingly been caught at more than four times the legal alcohol limit in Altona Meadows this morning, Victoria Police say.
Westgate Highway Patrol officers were conducting random breath tests on Queen Street when they intercepted a 35-year-old driver.
The Altona man underwent a preliminary breath test, recording a positive reading.
He was then taken back to the station for an evidentiary breath test and returned an alleged reading of .219.
The man’s licence was immediately suspended and he had his car impounded for 30 days at a cost of $943.
He is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving.
