Algeria Hosts Workshop on CGE Model Interface

As part of efforts to strengthen the use of economic modelling in policymaking, ESCWA, in collaboration with the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CNESE) of Algeria, organized from 27 to 30 April a workshop to train the Council's experts on the user-friendly interface of the ESCWA computable general equilibrium (CGE) model.

The workshop aimed at familiarising participants with the tool and how to assess its relevance to national policy priorities, while testing various internal and external shock scenarios and analysing their impact on the Algerian economy. It also strengthened participants' capacity to use the model's outputs in support of evidence-based policymaking.
