Alice Springs Police Appeal for Information on Stolen Vehicles

Northern Territory Police have recovered five stolen vehicles overnight in Alice Springs.

Shortly before 11 pm, a security company notified the police after a commercial building on Bath Street was unlawfully entered, and five vehicles were stolen.

The public reported multiple incidents relating to vehicles driving erratically around the CBD. Police CCTV continued to monitor and capture the happenings.

The vehicles all contained several youths, sometimes hanging out of the car and attempting to swerve at police vehicles before driving away at speed.

Police could not pursue the vehicles due to the weather conditions and the inherent risks to public safety and officers.

All five vehicles later recovered have been towed to the police compound for forensic analysis.
