Mount Gambier's beloved Christmas Parade returns on Saturday 15 November 2025, and this year LinkSA is helping make the festivities more inclusive and accessible for all.
Two dedicated 'Santa Shuttle' buses will loop around Mount Gambier, offering convenient transport to Commercial Street for a gold coin donation. The service will ensure families, seniors and those with mobility challenges can join the celebration with ease.
"LinkSA is proud to support the local community by making this much-loved event more accessible to everyone," Keolis Downer Charter and Special Event Coordinator Kelvin Gorringe said.
"The Christmas Parade is about connection, and we're here to help make that happen."
All proceeds from the gold coin donations will go to Four Reasons Why, supporting local causes during the festive season.
Accessibility and inclusion highlights:
- Live streaming of the parade on the City of Mount Gambier's Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.
- A dedicated parking section on Commercial Street for elderly residents to comfortably sit and view the parade from buses.
- The Santa Shuttle is wheelchair accessible and designed to accommodate prams and mobility aids.
"We're committed to making our events welcoming for everyone," City of Mount Gambier Community Events Team Leader Xarnia Keding said.
"From live streaming to considered seating arrangements, we're ensuring no one misses out on the joy of the parade."
The bus shuttle will continue following the parade, providing access to the Party in the Park celebration which will fill the Cave Garden/Thugi with music, food stalls, and family-friendly activities.
"Community events like the Mount Gambier Christmas Parade remind us why local engagement matters," Mr Gorringe added.
"LinkSA is excited to play a small part in helping families and friends come together to celebrate."
"Whether you're hopping on the Santa Shuttle or tuning in from home, this year's parade promises to be a heartwarming celebration of community, connection, and festive cheer," Mrs Keding said.
The first bus will depart Sturt Street at 9:00am, then 9:30am and 10:00am.
