Allan Urged to Cut Ties With Drag Performer: Shelton

Family First Party

Family First National Director Lyle Shelton has called on Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan to immediately distance herself from drag performer "Frock Hudson" and ensure he is never promoted as a role model for children.

The call follows the Premier's appearance on stage with Hudson at last weekend's Pride in the Park event in Bendigo.

Mr Shelton said the Premier's decision to publicly associate with Hudson raised serious questions about her judgment and the standards being set for children.

"Parents have every right to be concerned when their Premier shares a platform with a performer who has posted explicit, sexualised images of himself online," Mr Shelton said.

"People like Frock Hudson are not appropriate role models for children, and governments should not be legitimising or promoting them in family or community settings."

Frock Hudson, otherwise known as Dean Arcuri, has been a regular reader to little children at Drag Queen Story Time events in Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Mr Shelton said his long-running legal battle began after he raised concerns about "Drag Queen Story Time" events and the suitability of gender fluid and sexualised performers engaging with children.

"In the course of that debate, I exposed the social media content of individuals like Hudson, using their own publicly available material," he said.

"That material speaks for itself. People who post this sort of material are people most parents would consider inappropriate role models for their children."

Mr Shelton said the drag queens suing him have demanded he remove images, including those taken from Frock Hudson's social media platforms, from his website as part of ongoing litigation.

"I have refused to take them down because the public has a right to know who is being presented as suitable for children," he said.

"This case has now dragged into its seventh year and I am now seeking leave in the Queensland Supreme Court for the appeal finding to be quashed. No adverse finding has been made against me after more than six years of litigation. It is a clear example of how the process itself is used to punish those who speak out."

Mr Shelton said Premier Allan had a responsibility to draw a clear line.

"The Premier should not be appearing on stage with individuals whose public conduct is clearly at odds with community standards for role models for children," he said.

"She must commit to ensuring that people like Hudson are not involved in events targeted at children or presented as role models in taxpayer-supported programs.

"Family First will always stand with parents who want safe, age-appropriate environments for their children — not ideological experiments that blur basic boundaries."
