Allens has advised AustralianSuper on the establishment of a new technology-enabled personal advice service designed to expand access to advice and guidance for the fund's approximately 3.6 million members. The new service will allow members to obtain personalised advice and guidance on a range of topics including investment options, contributions and retirement.
Allens advised on the establishment of the new service to be provided by a separate entity in the AustralianSuper group, including licensing, regulatory and governance frameworks, negotiation of technology and advice services agreements, and tax advice.
Partner Simun Soljo said: 'AustralianSuper's investment in this new service for members reflects its commitment to improving member outcomes and helping members to make good decisions about their superannuation. It also reflects the increasing role technology can play in improving access to financial advice, to help more Australians achieve better financial and retirement outcomes. We were pleased to support AustralianSuper on this significant initiative.'
