Almost 3.5million worth of cannabis seized; four charged - Cumberland PAC

Three men and a woman have been charged after five search warrants were executed in Sydney's west where police located almost $3.5 million worth of cannabis plants.

In September 2019, Cumberland Police Area Command began investigating hydroponic cannabis cultivation in the South West Metropolitan region.

Officers from the Cumberland Proactive Team, Liverpool City Police Area Command, Fairfield City Police Area Command, Burwood Police Area Command and Bass Hill Regent Enforcement Squad, executed five search warrants at homes in Greystanes, Guildford, Merrylands (x2) and Dundas, today (Friday 1 November 2019).

Upon searching the homes, officers located and seized 686 cannabis with the potential estimated street value of $3,430, 000, and $222,600 in cannabis leaf.

About 5.40am today (Friday 1 November 2019), police arrested three men aged – 23, 25, and 36, and a 23-year-old woman at various locations. They were all taken to Granville Police Station.

A 23-year-old Bonnyrigg woman was charged with a found on/entering/leaving drug premises, organises/conducts/assists drug premises, cultivate prohibited plant - commercial quantity, possess prohibited plant – commercial quantity.

She was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 1 November 2019).

A 23-year-old Cabramatta man was charged with found on/entering/leaving drug premises, organises/conducts/assists drug premises, cultivate prohibited plant - commercial quantity, possess prohibited plant - commercial quantity, and use/consume/waste electricity without authority.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 2 November 2019).

A 25-year-old Bankstown man was charged with knowingly take part-cultivate – commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity, organises/conducts/assists drug premises, and use/consume/waste electricity without authority.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 2 November 2019).

A 36-year-old Canley Vale man was charged with knowingly take part-cultivate – commercial quantity, possess prohibited plant, found on/entering/leaving drug premises, and use/consume/waste electricity without authority.
