Amanda Emblem releases debut album on tour with Robert Cray Band

RELEASE

Amanda Emblem, fresh from outback appearances at Winton’s Way Out West Festival last month has hit "big smoke" as a support act for one of her idols, Robert Cray. The Blues/Rock soloist, (who also performs with her band the Experiment) is also released her debut Album "Who Is Amanda Emblem?" today. Amanda opens for Robert Cray at three of Australia's premiere live music venues. citing that the supports will be a "walk in the park" compared to playing at Winton’s Way Out West Fest last month.

There is strong momentum for Amanda Emblem. She was recently a guest of legendary Blues band "Chain" at Byron Bluesfest, singing her remake of the bands No.1 song "Black & Blue" in front of thousands of loyal blues fans, but not all of Amanda’s gigs are so glamorous.

After Winton Way Out West Fest, Amanda Emblem admitted they were the hardest gigs she’s ever done. This is quite a statement for a seasoned performer who’s been on six seperate Armed Forces Tours to some of the most dangerous parts of the world.

"The Country Scene is intimidating for an outsider, and the audience is as ignorant to other genres, as I am to country music. Between swallowing flies, the heat, and the anxiety of playing to a possibly hostile audience, I feel like I really achieved something massive winning them over and not completely losing my shit with the playing conditions… the flies were just relentless".

Early last year, Amanda re-launched her music career after many years fronting and playing bass in various bands. After choosing to take on the name on her original birth certificate, Amanda has not looked back. She now performs extensively across Queensland and Northern NSW, both as a soloist and with her band (The Amanda Emblem Experiment).

"Who Is Amanda Emblem" is a well produced, contemporary blues rock offering. Her voice features throughout the recording, and saxophone features on many of the tracks. It notably includes two duets with two famous Australian singer/harmonica players, the remake of "Black and Blue" featuring Matt Taylor (from Chain) and an original song "Gotta Be An Easier Way" featuring Ross Wilson (Daddy Cool/Mondo Rock).
