Ambulance officer assaulted, woman charged in Ingleburn

A woman will face court after allegedly assaulting an ambulance officer in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

Just after 1pm today, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a library at the corner of Oxford and Cumberland Road, Ingleburn, after reports of a concern for welfare.

Paramedics attended and treated a woman, before requesting she attend a hospital.

While walking to the ambulance, the woman, without notice, grabbed the ambulance officer by the throat.

Other ambulance officers were able to intervene and notified police.

Officers from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command attended and arrested a 25-year-old woman.

She was taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station and charged with common assault.

The woman was granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 26 June 2017.

The 39-year-old female ambulance officer didn’t require treatment.
