An opportunity for financial and digital inclusion

- On the occasion of the International Day of Family Remittances (16 June), the UN's International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) will launch its new MobileRemit Africa report, which includes a specific country analysis about Ghana, the second largest recipient of remittances in sub-Saharan Africa in absolute terms after Nigeria. Details for the launch event can be found below.

Almost one in five adults in Ghana rely on remittances. However, Ghana is well-positioned to take advantage of mobile-enabled international remittances. The report highlights the opportunities to harness this potential and provides policy recommendations on how to do it, while linking up the financial goals of remittance families with the commercial strategies of financial service providers.
