The Copperlode Falls Dam Early Warning System will be live tested on Thursday 3 September between 10am and midday.
The test will involve the simultaneous activation of nine outdoor warning sirens located across Redlynch, Redlynch Valley, Freshwater and Brinsmead.
All stations will be activated simultaneously multiple times during the testing period.
While a dam emergency is highly unlikely, regular testing helps ensure the community r
emains familiar with the warning system. The test also provides the community an opportunity to review their emergency plans and stay familiar with evacuation information.
Residents do not need to take any action during the scheduled live audio tests, though pets sensitive to loud noises should be secured indoors.
A copy of the Dam Emergency Evacuation Guide and red zone maps are available on Council's website.
