The 2025 Wagga Youth Week program wrapped up at the end of April with record-high attendance over a variety of social events, upskilling workshops and certificate-based training targeting young people 12 to 25 years.
Council's 2025 Youth Week Crew caught up on a monthly basis from November 2024 to April 2025 to co-design the program.
It included youth-led temporary chalk murals and bedazzling book covers, along with First Aid Training, RSA and White Card Certificates.

Council's Youth and Community Development Officer Mel Fattore said the program aimed to cater for a diverse range of young people and their personal interests, all while providing soft entry and engagement with local support and upskilling services.
"Creating a tangible opportunity for young people to have a voice in what's happening in their city has been the key to our 2025 Youth Week program's success."
The youth-led program engaged local support services to co-deliver the activities with Council to raise awareness and connect young people to the assistance they need.

"The incredible collaboration across the extensive program with training services such as Riverina Community College, Wagga First Aid Training and Murrumbidgee Local Health District has allowed young people to take initiative in entering the workforce," Mel Fattore said.
"The social support of services like headspace Wagga Wagga, Anglicare Financial Counselling and Bloom From Within has allowed young people to become capable and independent in their own right."

Young person, Immi, has been an active participant in the 2025 Youth Week Crew.
"Youth Week allows young people, who often feel isolated from their community, the opportunity to get involved in events and programs catered to them," Immi said.
"Encouraging creativity, social skills and growth for the future, Youth Week was a resounding success for Wagga."
NSW Youth Week is hosted in April each year and is proudly supported by Wagga Wagga City Council.
