Another man charged after double stabbing in Sydney CBD

Another man has been charged following an incident in Sydney's CBD over the weekend where two men were stabbed.

About 11.45pm (Saturday 25 July 2020), emergency services were called to the corner of George and Liverpool Streets following reports of a brawl involving up to 16 people.

Upon arrival, officers from Sydney City Police Area Command found two men, aged 25 and 28, suffering stab wounds. They were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The younger man suffered a stomach wound and was taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a critical condition where he underwent surgery. The older man suffered a back wound and was taken to Royal Prince Alfred in a critical but stable condition.

On the evening (Saturday 25 July 2020), police arrested and charged two men - aged 18 and 21 – and they remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, police today (Monday 27 July 2020), arrested a 22-year-old man at Day Street Police Station.

He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray and granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 2 September 2020.
