Anti-Everything Greens At It Again

Guy Barnett,Minister for Resources

Greens Leader Cassy O'Connor has once again demonstrated that the Greens are anti-forestry, anti-jobs and anti-everything when it comes to our productive industries.

Ms O'Connor in Parliament today said the Greens "don't support any mandated minimum" sawlog quotas. The truth is they simply do not support native forestry or productive industries at all.

The irony of the Greens' stunt today is that their Bill seeks to abolish quotas established under the Labor-Green government.

Through seeking an abolition of sawlog quotas, Ms O'Connor is seeking an abolition of our sustainable native forestry industry and the jobs and economic activity it provides.

Make no mistake – the Greens are the Parliamentary arm of the Bob Brown Foundation, which regularly blocks worksites, and undertakes extreme protest activities impacting businesses and workers.

It was bitterly disappointing that the Labor Party previously sided with the Greens, turning their back on workers, their families and businesses by voting against our Workplace Protection Bill.

Tasmanians will never forget the 10,000 jobs that were lost under the last Labor-Green government.
