Disability Sports Australia (DSA) has today announced that international human services provider APM has signed as an event partner of the 2022 Toyota Wheelchair AFL National Championship.
APM supports over 1 million people each year to find employment, improve their health and wellbeing and participate in their community. APM services help people with injury, illness or disability, children and older adults, unemployed people, and those facing hardship or harm.
This announcement is another boost to Wheelchair AFL with the National Championship returning for the first time in nearly three years.
Delivered by DSA in partnership with the Australian Football League (AFL), the National Championship provides an opportunity for people with a physical disability, and those without disability, to participate together.
Group CEO Michael Anghie said 'We have seen firsthand the difference being part of a sporting team, competition and the associated community makes to people living with disability through APM's long-time support of the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) Inclusive League. Supporting events such as the national AFL wheelchair championships will allow more people to participate, be involved in the sport and increase awareness surrounding disability and inclusion'

This partnership continues APMs support of inclusion programs with recent support being provided to the WA State Teams of the WA All Abilities Football Association (WAAAFA)
Kayo Sports will be streaming all Division 1 matches of the competition from Wednesday 23rd November and the Finals series of both Divisions on Friday, 25th November.
Matches will be streamed free via Kayo Freebies, with fans able to access the coverage via the Kayo Sports app or online www.kayosports.com.au/freebies. Kayo Freebies are free with no credit card details required to register or stream events.wheelchair AFL is a modified, all-inclusive game of Australian Rules Football which is played in a sports wheelchair.
The event will be hosted at the newly opened, state-of-the-art Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness Centre in Greensborough, managed by Aligned Leisure.
The 2022 Toyota Wheelchair AFL National Championship is a free ticketed event that will be open to the public to watch and support.
The 2022 Wheelchair AFL National Championship is proudly supported by Toyota as the naming Rights sponsor, the Victorian Government, APM, Australian Football League (AFL) AFL Victoria, the Australian Defence Force (ADF), Kayo Sports, and Aligned Leisure.
The event is also supported by B-Live Streaming, Nillumbik Shire Council, Quest Apartment Hotels, NDSP Plan Manager, Access Ability Australia, the Australian Sports Commission, and Disability Sport & Recreation.
