Police are appealing for information after a man was injured during an aggravated break and enter in the state’s north yesterday.
About 9pm (Tuesday 18 January 2022), emergency services were called to a home on Alice Street, Moree, following reports of an aggravated break and enter.
Officers attached to New England Police District were told that a woman forced entry to the home, before confronting the occupant – a 80-year-old man – demanding cash.
The woman threw a bottle at the man’s head before fleeing, stealing the man’s mobile phone and wallet.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Moree Hospital as a precaution.
A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation.
As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a woman that may be able to assist them.
The woman is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged between 18-25, 165cm tall with brown hair and blonde streaks. She was wearing dark coloured leggings at the time.
