Appeal after fail to stop crash at Parramatta

Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a fail to stop crash which left a man with serious leg injuries at Harris Park last night.

About 9.20pm (Sunday 23 May 2021), a 39-year-old man had parked his car near the intersection of Marion Street and Wigram Street, when he was hit by a vehicle that did not stop.

The man fell to the ground with severe injuries to his legs.

Emergency services were contacted and the man was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment for serious leg fractures.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command commenced inquiries and an investigation was commenced by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

Marion Street was closed to traffic for 3-4 hours while police conducted an examination of the crime scene.

Police are searching for the driver of the vehicle, described as a red Mazda 3. The car would have damage to the front bumper bar and the near side mirror.

Anyone who might have been in the vicinity of Marion Street, Harris Park around 9.20pm last night and has dash cam footage, is urged to come forward.
