Appeal after guns, ammunition found in home at Botany

Detectives are appealing for information after seizing five firearms and ammunition at a home in Sydney's south last month.

About 1pm on Friday 26 June 2020, officers from South Sydney Police Area Command attended a unit on Rochester Street, Botany, after reports guns and ammunition had been found.

Detectives established a crime scene and searched the home, seizing two rifles, shotgun, two handguns and a large amount of ammunition.

No one was home at the time and the items have undergone forensic examination.

Police are seeking to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, about 180cm tall, with a large build, black hair, a black beard and brown eyes.
