Appeal after man shot north of Coffs Harbour

Police are appealing for information after a man was shot north of Coffs Harbour overnight.

About 1.20am (Wednesday 7 April 2021), emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway at Moonee Beach, following reports a man had been shot.

On arrival, a 33-year-old man was found in a black utility with several gunshot wounds. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus where he is reportedly in a critical condition.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, detectives are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.

The Pacific Highway northbound at the Emerald Beach interchange is currently reduced to one lane, delays are expected.
