Appeal After Serious Scooter Crash At Wollongong

Police are appealing for public information following a serious crash in Wollongong last month.

About 7.40pm on Sunday 31 March 2024, emergency services were called to Cliff Road Tramway, North Wollongong, after reports of a crash involving a scooter and an e-scooter.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the rider of the scooter, a 10-year-old boy, with head injuries, and he was taken to the Children's Hospital at Westmead in a serious condition.

The rider of the e-scooter assisted before leaving prior to police attendance.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV of a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man is described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, medium build, with short black hair, wearing a black t-shirt, black long pants and shoes.
