Appeal after service station attendant threatened with knife at Dubbo

Police are appealing for the public's assistance after a man was threatened with a knife at a service station in Dubbo yesterday.

About 10pm (Tuesday 12 October 2021), the attendant – a 32-year-old man – was leaving the service station on Windsor Road, Dubbo, when he was approached by a man, armed with a knife.

The staff member threw a drink at the armed man before he fled on foot through the medical centre car park towards Wheelers Lane.

Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

The man is described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, mid-late teens, about 170cm tall with black hair and wearing a black jacket with a hooded jumper, grey trackpants and a black bandana face covering.

As part of inquiries, investigators are urging anyone with information – or dashcam footage from the area at the time – to contact Dubbo Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
