Appeal after shot fired at Woolgoolga

Police are appealing for public assistance after a shot was fired into a vehicle in the state's Coffs/Clarence region earlier this week.

Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District attended an address on Smails Close, Woolgoolga, after reports a maroon Toyota Camry had been damaged.

Police were told about 5am on Monday 9 August 2021, a woman was woken to a loud bang.

Later the same morning, the woman observed what appeared to be a gunshot to the rear of the Toyota.

A crime scene was established by Coffs Harbour detectives after a number of projectiles were found, which will be forensically examined.

As investigations continue, police are asking any witnesses, or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.
