Appeal after suspicious house fire at Gunnedah

Police are appealing for public assistance following a suspicious house fire in state's north east yesterday.

About 2.15am on Tuesday (4 January 2022), emergency services were called to Bloomfield Street, Gunnedah, following reports a house was alight.

Fire & Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze; however, the house was partially destroyed.

No one was home at the time, and no injuries have been reported.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the blaze.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and noticed suspicious activity to come forward.
