Appeal after theft from licensed premise - Haymarket

Police are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into a stealing at a licensed premise in Haymarket last week.

About 9am on Saturday 28 January 2023, a man entered a hotel on George Street, Haymarket, and allegedly stole cash.

Police have been told a man entered the gaming area of the hotel and allegedly took two cartridges containing cash from a cash dispensary machine.

He was last seen walking towards Quay Street, Haymarket.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation into the theft.

As investigations continue, police have released an image of a man who might be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, approximately 25-30 years-old, of medium build, with short black hair.

He was wearing a red t-shirt with a black vest over the top, blue shorts and dark coloured shoes.
