Appeal For Assistance After Car Firebombed - Eagle Vale

Police have released CCTV footage as investigations continue into the firebombing of a vehicle in Sydney's southwest earlier this year.

About 3.50am on Sunday 9 August 2026, emergency services were called to reports that a vehicle had been firebombed while parked in a driveway of a home on Sapphire Place, Eagle Vale.

Investigations have led police to CCTV which showed a man throwing five to six improvised items over a fence towards the residence, causing a vehicle parked in the driveway to catch fire.

Residents attempted to extinguish the blaze using a garden hose; however, the fire spread from the ute's tray to the cabin.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze; however, the vehicle – a black Dodge RAM – was destroyed.

There were no reports of injuries.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was later examined by specialist police.

As investigations continue police have released CCTV footage depicting a man wearing a dark long-sleeved jumper, light coloured pants, black shoes and a black ski mask.

Police believe the man left the scene and ran towards Emerald Drive, Eagle Vale, before leaving in a 2015 silver Holden Commodore fitted with a rear spoiler.

Anyone with information about the incident – or was in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – is urged to contact Campbelltown Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
