Police have released CCTV as part of an investigation into the alleged malicious damage of a heritage-listed building, totalling $500,000, at Ultimo last month.
Just after 8pm on Thursday 30 June 2022, four fire hydrants were turned on in a building on Jones Street, Ultimo, releasing a large volume of water.
As a result, the building suffered extensive water damage, estimated to be worth about $500,000.
Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
As investigations continue, detectives have released CCTV footage of a man who maybe to assist with their inquiries.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of thin build, with short dark hair.
The man is depicted wearing a black facemask, black hat with white trim, black puffer jacket, black adidas pants, black shoes with a Nike backpack and carrying a black duffle bag.
In the vision he is seen walking along Wattle Street about 8.40pm on the night of the incident.
