Appeal for assistance - firearm offences Rockhampton

Detectives are investigating an incident in which a man allegedly discharged a firearm in Rockhampton yesterday (September 7)

At around 3.30pm an altercation occurred between two men in the eastbound lanes of Fitzroy Street, between Murray Street and George Lane.

Shortly afterwards a woman and one of the men involved in the altercation walked back to a blue vehicle parked in George Lane.

A man was then observed exiting a dark coloured vehicle in Murray Street at the intersection with Fitzroy Street, with what appeared to be a rifle.

This man has discharged the weapon down Fitzroy Street towards the man and woman walking to the vehicle in George Lane. The man has then re-entered his vehicle and decamped westbound along Fitzroy Street.

The man and woman have entered the blue vehicle in George Lane and driven off at speed towards Archer Street.

Rockhampton detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, has mobile phone footage of the incident, or who was in the area of Fitzroy Street, George Lane or Archer Street between 3.15 and 4.00pm and may have dash cam vision to contact them.
