State Highway Patrol officers are appealing for public assist to help locate a vehicle after a dangerous driving incident in Sunbury yesterday.
Police motorcycles were patrolling northbound on Lancefield Road near Konagaderra Road when they observed a white vehicle, believed to be a Toyota 86 or Subaru BRZ, with black and white registration plates about 4.25pm.
Officers witnessed the car overtake another vehicle across double white lines before continuing to overtake six other cars at a speed of 158km/h in a 100km/h zone.
Police attempted to intercept the car, but the driver refused to stop and accelerated heavily onto the wrong side of the road.
For safety reasons a decision was made not to pursue the vehicle.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, particularly those with dashcam footage that may have captured the vehicle, to come forward.
