Appeal for dashcam footage after crash - Rydalmere

Police are appealing for dashcam vision following a multi vehicle crash in Rydalmere yesterday.

About 1.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 17 October 2023) emergency services were called to the intersection of Victoria Road and Clyde Street, Rydalmere, following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command and the Crash Investigations Unit attended the scene.

Police have been told the 20-year-old male rider of a Kymco motorcycle has become trapped under a Hino tow truck after being hit from behind, before being pushed into a Toyota Rav4 and Holden Captiva. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious head and leg injuries.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital in critical condition.

The Hino tow truck driver, a 53-year-old man, the Toyota Rav4 driver, a 38-year-old man and the Holden Captiva driver, a 53-year-old man were not injured and taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries continue, investigators are appealing for anyone with information into the incident or dashcam footage to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
