No fewer than thirteen of Wageningen University & Research's twenty degree programmes have been awarded the 'Top-rated Programme' distinction in the Keuzegids 2027. WUR also ranks as the best university in the technical universities category.
With thirteen top-rated degree programmes, Wageningen University & Research (WUR) has more programmes awarded this distinction than any other Dutch university. This is an increase from last year's Keuzegids, when ten WUR programmes received the quality seal. The Keuzegids assessment is based on student satisfaction, study success rates and preparation for the labour market.
Five stars
The Keuzegids has awarded the 'Top-rated Programme' distinction to several degree programmes, including Agrotechnology, Business and Consumer Studies and Nutrition and Health. Two programmes have received an impressive five-star rating in the latest edition: International Land and Water Management and Molecular Life Sciences.
Carolien Kroeze, Rector Magnificus of WUR, is proud of the university's achievement: "On behalf of the entire Executive Board, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our students for this wonderful recognition. This excellent result is also a tremendous compliment to all our lecturers and staff, whose dedication and enthusiasm contribute to the quality of our education every day."
To qualify as a 'Top-rated Programme', a degree programme must achieve a score of at least 75 points in the quality assessment, well above the average of 60 points. These programmes receive a special quality seal in the Keuzegids, recognising them as among the best in the Netherlands.
Best technical university
For the first time, the Keuzegids has introduced a separate ranking for technical universities. Wageningen University & Research tops this ranking, achieving particularly strong scores in areas including 'Engineering and Design' and 'Economics and Business'.
