Appeal for help to find boy missing from Merrylands

Police are appealing for public assistance to find a boy who failed to return to his Merrylands home after school yesterday.

Biar Biar, aged 12, left his home about 7am yesterday (Friday 20 March 2020), to attend his school on Old Prospect Rd, Greystanes, where he is in Year 7.

When he had not returned home as usual by 3.50pm, his family began looking for him; police were alerted a few hours later and a search of the surrounding area began but has, so far, been unsuccessful.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command are now appealing for public assistance to find Biar, as they and his family have concerns due to his young age. This is considered out of character.

Biar is described as being of African appearance, between 165cm-170cm tall with a medium build, dark complexion, short black hair and dark eyes.

At the time he was wearing a blue St Paul's Catholic College school shirt, grey pants, black shoes, a St Pauls Catholic College cap, and was carrying a black backpack.

Anyone who may have seen Biar, or has information of his whereabouts, is urged to call Merrylands Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
