Appeal for info following assault, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was assaulted several times in Sydney’s south-west yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 11.30am (Wednesday 3 January 2018), police have been told a 35-year-old man was driving on Edensor Road, St Johns Park, when a silver Subaru sedan performed a U-turn in front of him.

The man continued driving on Edensor Road with the Subaru now following him.

The two cars stopped and two men exited the Subaru. An altercation took place and the 35-year-old man was assaulted.

The two men left the scene in the Subaru while the man called police. While he was calling police, a white utility truck pulled over and a man exited the vehicle.

The driver of the utility truck also argued with the 35-year-old man before assaulting him.

Officers from Fairfield Local Area Command commenced an investigation and are making inquiries into whether the drivers of both vehicles are known to each other.

Investigators wish to speak with three men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

They have been described as of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, with a solid build and aged between 25 and 30.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
