Appeal for info following bicycle crash, NSW

Police are appealing for information after a bicycle rider was injured at Seaham, north of Raymond Terrace last weekend, NSW Police say.

About 1am on Saturday 16 June 2018, an 18-year-old cyclist was riding with two others on Cross Street, Seeham.

Near the intersection of Clarence Town Road, the 18-year-old was hit from behind by the driver of a dark-coloured 4WD which allegedly failed to stop.

The rider was taken to Maitland Hospital with serious head injuries and later conveyed to John Hunter Hospital the following day for emergency surgery, where he remains in a critical condition.

Officers from Port Stephens / Hunter Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
