Appeal for info on aggravated break, enter and steal in Byangum.

Police are investigating an aggravated break enter and steal in Byangum, five kilometres from Murwillumbah, on Friday 12 May 2017, NSW Police say.

Officers have been told that about 1.30pm, a 63-year-old male resident returned to his home on Kyogle Road and found a unknown man inside his home.

The man lashed out with a Stanley knife, slashing the occupants forearm.

The resident’s dogs attacked the man before he fled the location with a camera and cash.

As a result of the dog attack he may have suffered injuries to his legs.

The resident was conveyed to Tweed Heads Hospital where he underwent surgery to his arm.

The man is described as Caucasian, 35 – 40 years old, slim build, 183cm tall, long light brown hair, and a scruffy beard. He was wearing a dark cap, jeans, and a dark T-Shirt.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Tweed Heads Police or Crime Stoppers.
