Appeal for information into suspicious death of two-year-old in Sydney’s south-west

Police investigating the death of a two-year-old boy in Sydney’s south-west have renewed an appeal for information.

Arsalan Fard was presented unconscious to Westmead Hospital about 9pm on Friday 3 August 2018, and despite the efforts of hospital staff, he could not be revived.

Inquiries suggest the boy most likely received injuries in Cabramatta before he was later driven to Westmead Hospital about 9pm by his mother and other persons.

A post mortem examination was conducted and his death is being treated as suspicious.

Police from Fairfield Police Area Command established Strike Force Jillalla to investigate the boy’s death.

On Wednesday 26 September 2018, investigators executed a search warrant at a property on Park Road, Cabramatta, seizing several items.

As the investigation continues, about 6pm yesterday (Wednesday 9 January 2019), police re-canvassed Park Road, Cabramatta, hoping to speak to anyone with information that may assist the investigation.

Police continue to appeal for anyone in this area with information which may assist to contact investigators.

This address is near a shopping centre and police believe a number of persons may have seen something.

A photo of a Toyota Corolla, similar to the vehicle used to take Arsalan to hospital, has also been released by investigators.

Anyone who sighted this vehicle on the night, or who has any other information that they believe may assist the investigation, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or Information is treated in strict confidence.
