Appeal for public assistance – missing Malaysian students – Brisbane / Gold Coast

Brisbane City Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate two Malaysian students reported missing today, Queensland Police say.

Twenty-one year-old Weiqi Loh and her 22-year-old friend Alan Selvakumaran were last seen around 2pm today (May 9) in the Brisbane City area (Gardens Point).

The pair have been reported missing to police by their families, with concerns held for their safety and well-being.

Police have received information tonight that they may be in the Southport area of the Gold Coast.

Anyone who sees them or has any information in relation to their current whereabouts is urged to immediately contact police.

Weiqi Loh is described as approximately 169cms tall with long black hair and a slim build. She was last seen wearing long navy pants, navy t-shirt with ‘Armani Jeans’ logo on the front, long sleeve navy blue cardigan and a brown backpack (as per clothing in the attached image).

Alan Selvakumaran is described as 178cms tall with a slim build, short black hair and brown eyes.
