Appeal for witnesses after pedestrians hit by car in Niddrie

Police are appealing for public assistance after two pedestrians were hit by a car in Niddrie earlier this week, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told two pedestrians were crossing at the lights on Keilor Road at the intersection of Matthews Avenue just after 5pm on Monday 27 August.

It is believed a white Toyota utility was travelling west along Keilor Road when it collided with the female pedestrians.

The male driver stopped and assisted the two women aged 19 and 25.

They were both taken to hospital remain in hospital with serious injuries.

The driver, a 23-year-old Strathmore man is assisting police with their enquiries.

Fawkner Highway Patrol officers are investigating and are keen to speak to any witnesses.
