Appeal for witnesses following assault and stabbing in Hurstville

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Sydney’s south last night, NSW Police say.

About 10pm yesterday (Wednesday 8 November 2017), emergency services were called to Hillcrest Avenue, Hurstville, following reports a fight had broken out and a man had been stabbed during a domestic dispute.

Police have been told up to five men, described as being of Asian appearance, began an argument with a 23-year-old man in Greenbank Street before following him to Hillcrest Avenue.

Officers attached to St George Local Area Command found the man suffering serious injuries to his hand.

He was taken to St George Public Hospital in a stable condition.
