Appeal for witnesses in Red Hill, QLD

Police are continuing to investigate a traffic crash that occurred this morning in Red Hill, Queensland Police say.

Around 8.15am, a motorcycle was travelling on Waterworks Road when it was struck by a silver Holden Commodore station wagon coming out of Mornington Street.

As a result of the impact the rider, a 20-year-old man, was thrown from the motorcycle and landed heavily on the road.

The vehicle then accelerated away turning left into Glenrosa Road turning right into Haughton Street and stopping on Murray Street where the driver fled the scene.

The rider was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with suspected broken arms and internal injuries.

Officers are appealing to anyone that may have been travelling in the area at the time and has dashcam or witnessed anything to contact them.

Investigations are continuing.
