Appeal to identify pedestrian after fatal crash - Bonnyrigg

Police are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man involved in a fatal crash in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

About 5am (Wednesday 19 February 2020), emergency services were called to Montgomery Road, Bonnyrigg, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a Subaru sedan.

On arrival, officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command located a man with serious head injuries.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition, where he later died.

The driver of the Subaru, a 36-year-old man, was not injured and was taken to Fairfield Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Investigators are conducting inquiries to identify the pedestrian involved in the crash and are appealing for the public's assistance.

The man is described as being of Asian appearance, aged in his 70s or 80s, about 160-170cm tall, of a thin build and with grey hair.

He was wearing a black shirt and long pants, black shoes and a black cap, at the time of the crash, and did not have any identification documents on him.
