Appeal to locate man missing from Taree area

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man reported missing from the state's north.

Geoffrey Simpson, aged 80, left his home at Lansdowne near Taree about 6pm yesterday (Thursday 20 February 2020) to go on his regular daily walk. This walk would typically take him two hours.

He has not been seen or heard from since and was reported missing to officers from Manning/Great Lakes Police District today (Friday 21 January 2020).

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for public assistance to locate him.

Geoffrey is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of a medium build, with grey thinning hair. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt, black jeans and work boots.

Geoffrey's family and police hold concerns for his welfare due to his age and suffers from a medical condition that requires constant medication and urge anyone who sees him to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
