Applications open for Aboriginal Languages Community Investment Program 2021

The program aims to support projects that reawaken, grow, nurture, promote and raise awareness of Aboriginal languages in communities across NSW.

The Aboriginal Languages Trust is investing $800,000 in local Aboriginal community groups and organisations who have a focus on delivering:

  • Aboriginal language activities
  • building workforce capability
  • promoting the appreciation and use of Aboriginal languages.

The open round grants program is offering funding across 3 categories:

  • Reawaken (supports projects that encourage the development of new or emerging language activities) - up to $20,000

  • Grow (supports existing projects to expand and develop the capacity of groups or organisations) - up to $50,000

  • Nurture (provides support to build the strategic capacity of more established groups or organisations) - up to $90,000.

To apply for the program, organisations must be a not-for-profit incorporated Aboriginal Controlled Organisation located in NSW.

Applications for the program open Monday 1 February 2021 and close Friday 12 March 2021.
