Applications are now open for the 2019/20 Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP).

The VESEP provides grants of up to $150,000 to help brigades, units and clubs carry out minor facility improvements or buy operational equipment like new vehicles, trucks, tankers, and trailers.

Under the VESEP the State Government matches every $1 paid by volunteer groups with a $2 co-contribution. The maximum contribution available under the program is $150,000.

There are four categories under which funding is available:

•Volunteer amenities $

•Minor works $

•Operational equipment and specialist appliances

•Tankers

In 2018, 146 CFA projects were funded under the VESEP.

Key dates for 2019/20:

• Applications close to District - 29 July

• Anticipated announcement of successful projects - Mid / Late October 2019

Applications must be submitted to your district Operations Manager. Please contact your catchment team to discuss your application further.

Brigades are encouraged to demonstrate how the grant will enhance local resilience and sustainability outcomes (e.g. climate change) in their application.

Brigades will be advised in writing if their application has been successful.
