Applications open for Community Recovery Grants

Local community groups, organisations and youth initiatives impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic can now apply for a total of $600,000 in Brimbank Council Community Recovery Grants.

This includes a one-off allocation of $200,000 in the 2021-22 Budget provided for Youth Support Grants to focus on supporting initiatives that are either led by young people or co-designed activities that support young people in Brimbank who have been impacted by COVID-19.

The Brimbank Community Recovery Grants Program 2021-2022 offers grants in five categories:

  • Recovery Grants (up to $10,000)
  • Establishment Grants (up to $1000)
  • Community Festival and Event Grants (Up to $10,000)
  • Major Festival and Events Grants (up to $25,000)
  • Youth Support Grants (Up to $15,000)

Council recognises that a range of community groups and organisations support our diverse community with a variety of needs. The Community Recovery Grants 2021-2022 aim to help them in their work to build community connections, reduce social isolation, and improve the physical and mental health of the community during the COVID-19 recovery.

Eligible applicants can use the grants in many ways. They may be able to help them adapt activities and programs that are normally conducted face to face to online forums, improve digital skills and access online communication channels. Groups may have ideas to promote Brimbank's culture and diversity, healthy lifestyle, community volunteering, learning and development pathways.
