Applications open for Innovative Services are Better Services

Applications are now open for our Innovative Services are Better Services program.

Mayor Libro Mustica said this program had been developed in response to changes to funding arrangements for community care services to people with disabilities, who are frail or aged.

"The Innovative Services program aims to strengthen the community care and services sector through the provision of funds to address existing or emerging unmet needs in our region," Cr Mustica said.

"It will be of particular interest to service providers and not-for-profit community organisations who are seeking funding to deliver an innovative service.

"Funding up to $131,750 will be offered on a triennial basis to allow funding surety to implement programs or projects and evaluate outcomes.

"We are looking for applications that demonstrate sustainability and can be used to leverage contributions from other sources including in-kind contributions.

"In particular, we are looking for programs which aim for service outcomes including – promoting and enhancing healthy lifestyles, particularly physical activity and mental wellbeing; supporting quality independent living; encouraging involvement in community activities; reducing social isolation; promoting supportive and safe communities; increasing access to community and community services; and supporting carers."

Applications close Friday 5 March 2021.
