Applications open for Monash Film Festival 2021

The call is out for budding young filmmakers to showcase their talents and ideas with a short film for the Monash Film Festival.

The 2021 Film Festival hosted by Monash Youth Services and Quiksound Productions is open to young people aged 12-25 who live, work, play or study in the City of Monash.

Entries chosen for the festival will be shown at an event on Tuesday 5 October at Village Cinemas Century City in Glen Waverley (COVID permitting) or Online.

Mayor Brian Little said the Monash Film Festival provides a creative outlet for young people in Monash to express their view of the world through film and to showcase their talents.

"What makes Monash so unique is our diverse community and I'm looking forward to seeing the short films that come from our fantastic young people," Cr Little said.

"After what has been a difficult 18 months, this is a great opportunity for our young people to express their creativity in a fun and safe way and support the work of their peers too."

This event is one of the many ways our dedicated Monash Youth Services together with the Quiksound team are able to deliver services and provide opportunities for our young people.

"It provides a real opportunity for our young people to explore ideas that are important to them, potentially see their work on the big screen and go in the running to win some amazing prizes."
