Council is currently seeking four new members aged 15 - 25 to join the Youth Council for the remainder of its 2025-2027 term.
The Youth Council is a formal advisory group that represents the voices of young people across the Shire, providing feedback to Council on programs, services and projects, as well as leading their own initiatives.
Mayor Cr Naomi Joiner said the Youth Council played an important role in shaping a more inclusive and connected community.
"Young people bring great new ideas, fresh energy and insight to the matters we make as a Council," Cr Joiner said.
"Joining the Youth Council is a chance to step up, speak out and be part of conversations that can influence change locally."
Youth Council members meet monthly at the Nillumbik Youth Hub and work collaboratively on projects that matter to young people in the community, while developing skills in leadership, advocacy and teamwork.
"We're looking for young people who are curious, motivated and keen to contribute their ideas. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to get involved," she said.
To be eligible, applicants must be aged between 15 - 25 and live, work, study or volunteer in Nillumbik.
Applications are open until Sunday 21 June.
