The New South Wales Bar Association congratulates the Honourable Justice Simon Steward and the Honourable Justice Jacqueline Gleeson on the announcement today of their appointment as Justices of the High Court of Australia.
"Justice Gleeson and Justice Steward have made a significant contribution to the Rule of Law and the administration of justice," President of the New South Wales Bar Association, Tim Game SC, said today.
"Both Judges are fine judicial officers. They have served with diligence, demonstrated excellence and sound judgment throughout the course of their appointments to the Federal Court of Australia," Mr Game said.
"We look forward to the contribution their Honours will make to serving the Australian community from the bench of the High Court.
"The Association expresses its sincere thanks to His Honour Justice Nettle and Her Honour Justice Bell for their formidable contributions in serving the High Court faithfully and diligently throughout their terms. We wish them well in their future endeavours," Mr Game said.
